Art Journal- Shop
I do like to shop- even just window shopping which is easier on my wallet! I saw a new technique on YouTube and I decided to try it out on this page. The technique consisted of journaling with various colors of sharpies and then coating with a thin layer of gesso. The sharpie ink was supposed to seep through the layer of gesso giving it some interesting color. So the colors that you see on my background here are purely from the text below the gesso.
I then used some stamps and some modeling paste mixed with paint to stencil on the pink shapes. The little poem under the grumpy girl reads:
There was a little girl, and she had a little curl
Right in the middle of her forehead;
When she was good, she was very, very good,
But when she was bad, she was horrid.
There was a little girl, and she had a little curl
Right in the middle of her forehead;
When she was good, she was very, very good,
But when she was bad, she was horrid.
The girl and the shopping bags were cut out from some old scrapbook papers. The smudged pink outline was the leftover modeling paste/paint mixture- I don’t like wasting anything =).
