Watercolor Study- Mountains
I like to look at work that’s been done by other artists and study some pieces through replicating them in order to learn various styles and techniques. I never sell this work as it’s only for learning purposes. The important thing is to not pass the work off as your own and give credit where it’s due. Often times though there’s multiple ‘copies’ of the same work floating around on Pinterest though and you can’t identify it’s origin.
This painting is a study of a piece by White Doe Prints, they have beautiful watercolor pieces and I love the use of negative space, the layering of the water colors, along with the way the horizon and elements float on the page. Of course the fact that there’s mountains just takes this painting to the next level for me.
