Diaper Cake

I love making diaper cakes for newborns, baby showers, and toddler gifts.  I think it’s a great gift because everything is useful and can be filled up with a variety of different things depending on what you feel like giving the baby.

I start off by making a base out of cardboard and then I roll up individual diapers.  I used to put an elastic around every diaper until I discovered that a large elastic band works just as well and is a lot easier to put together (and take apart).

I made this cake 3 tiered and topped it off with a cute little lamb.

I like to wrap the gift up in some cellophane and ribbon and, voila, the diaper cake is ready to be served!
