Building Lots of Layers

If you’re familiar with my work you probably already know that I like to add lots and lots of layers to my pieces. I started this page off by wiping random paints from other pieces of work onto an empty page inside my art journal.

I had absolutely no idea where to take the page at all after the initial layers that I decided to add some texture and contrast to the page using some stencils and modeling paste. Modeling paste is a great way to add ‘3D’ elements to the page. I used it straight out of the container here but you can always mix in some paint to change the color of the paste as well.
