
Apple Crumble
Crumbles are super easy to make and pretty much fail proof. This amount of crumble is typically made in a pie dish about 9 inches in diameter but I made it in a larger dish because I wanted more of the topping to be crunchy.
Apple Crumble
Ingredients:
Filling:
4 tart apples (like granny smith), peeled and roughly cubed
¼ tsp cinnamon
¼ cup sugar
Juice and zest of 1 orange

Topping:
¼ cup all-purpose flour
¼ cup quick cooking oats (not oatmeal!)
¼ tsp cinnamon
¼ tsp nutmeg
½ cup cold butter, cubed
¼ cup sugar
Method:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit
- Mix together all the ingredients for the filling and pour it into a lightly greased, oven safe dish.
- In a separate bowl mix together all the ingredients for the topping and cut in the butter with a pastry blender or some forks.
- Evenly distribute the crumble on top of the apple mixture.
- Bake uncovered for about an hour.
